About Me
About Me:
I am a hobby writer in my 30s. For my day job, I work in animal conservation and assist in managing and administering our grants portfolio. I live in New York with my partner and an agent of chaos in the form of a spotted dog. Although mainly an author of speculative fiction short stories, I occasionally write creative nonfiction and poetry. I have a bachelor's degree in both English and Anthropology and an MA in Global Affairs.

I often get questions about serving in the Peace Corps or teaching English abroad. I am happy to answer those questions with my limited personal opinions (I lived in Korea from 2009-2013 and served in PC from 2014-2016, so, keep in mind, my opinions might be out of date).
Why Jeanne?
So, those of you who know me personally might know that I actually don't have a middle name. Jeanne is actually from Jeanne D'Arc, the French saint. I was raised Catholic and Jeanne D'Arc (Joan of Arc) was the saint I chose for my confirmation name.
When I started to submit my stories for publication, I noticed there were already a couple of people who had published using the same name as me. So, I added the "Jeanne" to avoid confusion. I picked Jeanne instead of Joan because I like how it looks better, and is more respectful, I think, to the historical figure because she was French and at war with the English. I guess she'd prefer the French version of her name.
